On World Egg Day, the Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) organized a press briefing at 24-R Poultry House, Johar Town, Lahore, attended by Chairman Mr. Abdul Basit, Vice Chairman (NR) Mr. Malik Muhammad Sharif, and other key members of the association. Addressing the media, Mr. Basit highlighted that World Egg Day, first celebrated in 1996 and observed annually on the second Friday of October, is marked globally to recognize the importance of eggs in the human diet. He emphasized that eggs are an affordable and high-quality source of protein, playing a vital role in global nutrition across both developed and developing countries. He further noted that Pakistan’s poultry sector, one of the most organized segments of the agro-based industry, has been serving the nation since 1962 by providing cost-effective poultry products to meet the growing demand for animal protein, thereby contributing significantly to both public health and the country’s economy.
